Friends,

I have largely been a hat guy and when hats get gross from sweat, I usually just toss them in the washer with some other clothes and they are good to go.

I now feel like I have enough hair to make a visor look adequate and have picked a couple up.

The dark blue one, probably not surprising, now looks like a salty, sweaty mess.

How do y'all clean your dark visors without ruining the structure?

jshel I have always avoided wearing navy or black visors on hot humid days as they stain easily. If you don’t wash them immediately the sweat stain doesn’t come off.

For white ones I use light laundry detergent and a toothbrush. Then I hang dry.

I’ve been soaking them in oxiclean for 24 hrs and then rinse them off in the top rack of the dishwasher

soak with like colors or in separate containers as darker colors can blead

Google “laundry stripping”. It works. Very well.

dphatt I actually prefers the seasoned look. When I look at the sweat stains it shows me I put in the neccessary work to get better. Am I the only one who doesn't wash the hats and visors?
