I have to vent about this because it’s shocking to me when things left on the golf course aren’t turned in. Over the weekend I was testing out a few putters while playing a round….decided after the 6th hole the blade wasn’t for me so I stuck in in the basket of the cart (lesson learned).
I get to my car after the round and realize the putter is gone. I immediately drive backwards and ask the 6 foursomes behind me….Nothing…..the responses I got were great….”a fucking putter? How’d you lose that?!”
This wasn’t a fancy putter. It wasn’t a Scotty or Lamb. It’s a damn Odyssey #1 wide with the Buck Club baby blue script cover (which I loved).
Earlier this year I left a Bushnell Pro XE in the cart….immediately went back after packing up the car and nothing….
Im a pretty organized guy, but we all have left things I’m sure. Yes I know it’s my fault for putting a putter in the basket of the cart or not checking that I have my rangefinder before packing up…I’ve learned my lesson. My question is; where have all the good people gone? What happened to simple values of turning something in that isn’t yours? Anything I find I turn in…I’ve even called a guy who had his cell number on his range finder that I found on top of a cart. Obviously the karma of being a normal human being isn’t coming back my way when losing things on the course :-(
Hopefully this putter shows up back at the clubhouse and if not, I hope it ends up in the turd cutter of whoever took it. Thanks for letting me rant. I will update if this changes!
