The Open is my favorite major to watch, especially getting up in the middle of the night and just anticipating chaos. Since I shouldn’t be texting friends at 4am, just going to post thoughts here. I think billet driving irons off the tee are my favorite shot to watch on tv.

Love the British Open... Vincent...hard to bet against Koepka. All he does is play well in Majors. Rahm is on top of his game. But I am pulling for Paul Casey or Westwood.

I think the key is looking for people who are pop stroke putters. Especially Sunday afternoon with nerves, need someone who will putt a strong roll on the ball, because wind, undulation and nerves make for a nasty combo when you need to make putts.

dphatt sunny, warm, and relatively light and predictable winds forecast all four days. Even the Open rota courses (Muirfield perhaps to the least extent) struggle to defend themselves from the best in the world without help from the elements.

Eddie Louis had been my Vegas sleeper odds pick for literally 6 years…. I love Louis but he’s the equivalent of fools gold from a betting perspective. He’s come so close time and again (I know he’s won before)I keep telling myself to put money on him, then I come to realize that Vegas may have him down perfectly, and that I’m the sucker, in that he’s close enough to win, but not yet a bonafide closer.

Was fully prepared to eat crow with this projection, but alas Louis remains Louis.
