IMO, unless you are playing pure musclebacks in your iron set (which should give you very repeatable distances with a very repeatable, consistent swing), a well struck Vokey 50* gap wedge will be more consistent, distance-wise, than a set gap wedge. The more game-improvementy the iron design, the less consistency in distance, which is why I dumped my T200 gap wedge and replaced it with a Vokey SM8. For whatever reason, I tend to make better and more centered contact, more consistently, with my Vokey gap wedge, which is clearly apparent by looking at my wear pattern. My T200 GW never seemed to go the distance I expected. I rarely have that issue on a well-struck shot with my Vokeys. Maybe that's just me.
