I hit 10 balls on a tee and 10 balls off the mat at PGASS today. They only had a demo available and it was the stock 65S in 11.5*. I guess they all hit shelves tomorrow and the salesperson didn't know if they had all stock offerings or if there was a variation of combos in the back.
Hot take, clubhead looks good at address. Nice footprint with the ball teed up. With the ball off of the turf, it's a bit intimidating. Off of the tee, I was seeing 270ish carry, 290 total, 2K spin, 15* launch. Pretty impressive as I thought it was going to be higher in spin. This is all on Foresight hardware/software. Had a big right to left ballflight but I definitely chalk it up to the shaft.
Off of the turf, it wasn't even worth noting the stats as I couldn't make a good enough impact with it. My struggles are 3 wood blues anyway so that isn't saying much about the club itself.
At impact it feels a bit dead, but it sounds OK. Thought it would be a bit tinny, but it sounds as it should being a multi-material head.
Final thoughts:
I almost bought this club three times over the past week on TMs site. As of right now, it is a one trick pony for me. I don't think a 13.5* will change my mind on that either. It's strictly a tee club to me. I know the right answer is to get fit for it but presumably it'll be a $650 club. For that kind of money, I would rather get fit for some ZX7s and sell my 770s to offset the total cost.
The only other option I can think of is going with a Rocket but it all goes back to why would I need a gap filler when I can hit my 5 wood 250 on or off a tee.
