Would love to hear your experiences with both.. and also which settings shafts.
Pure745 I didn't hit SIM2 well but TSI3 9* on Ventus Black 6X at 45" was an absolute rocket launcher for me
Had the SIM2 Max and it didn’t last long. It’s slightly more forgiving than the TSi3 but I would get the occasional high spin shots off center strikes like my old SIM Max.
Switch from Sim max to sim 2 max and to TSi3. I get the occasional big hits with sim 2 max but the Tsi3 is just much more consistent and i find the Tsi3 more forgiving than the Sim max and sim 2 max.
I pair it with VA raijin tipped 1/2 inch 45.5 set to D1.
Okay it seems like the Sim2 8* is going to beat out my Tsi3. Both with Ventus Black 6x. Took both to the course today and first swings with the Sim2 were much more comfortable than the Tsi over the past 5 rounds. Need to play a full round in rhythm to see what it really does.
Why are you guys trying the Sim2 Max and not the regular? Disclaimer - the last TM driver I played with the M2 8* lol
For me Tsi3 still had more a bias to turn over than SIM2, and way more than SIM1, that was all I needed to see to play TSi3.
I do miss the really high launch low spin balls with the SIM line though.
Tsi gone, sim2 firmly in bag.
I’ve been gaming the TSI3 8* and 9* with Ventus Black 6X since it came out. It has been consistent but I felt like I was losing some distance with it due to spin. That’s prob also why it’s been easy for me to keep in the fairway. It’s def a little draw biased and I don’t need that. I had a SIM2 Max Built at The Kingdom a couple weeks ago. Ventus Black 6X and had the head doctored up. We took weight out of the back and added hot melt to the face to get the SW back up and lose the spin. I’ve played it 4 or 5 times since I got it and this week it has really started to cement itself in the bag. I can work the ball better with. I can hit a cut at anytime and it’s longer than the TSI3. I think it’s going to stay for awhile. I go with the Max to take the extra forgiveness. With the weight move and hot melt it produces the same numbers as the SIM but has more forgiveness. So it was a no brainer for me.
I’m still stuck between a 9 and 10 degree head for the tsi3, I know the 10 is more consistent, but the 9 will hit the occasional bomb with sim like low spin.
with the sim line I knew I could go 10.5 without hesitation because of the low spin nature.
Eddie that’s how I’ve been with the 8* and 9* TSi3. 9 is more control. 8 make ball go far!
agadawg1717 that’s how I’ve been with the 8* and 9* TSi3. 9 is more control. 8 make ball go far!
I decided to go up in loft, let’s hope “consistency” is better.
I think I will be out of the TSi3 and going into the Epic Speed TDLS after hitting it great yesterday. The ESTDLS looked like it had a touch lower spin and was more controllable.
dphatt is the TD fade or draw biased? I’ve being thinking about trying one.
I’m going from sim to sim2 to tsi3 now I’m going back to sim with my hulk ...can’t stop launching it with tsi3 ..super high and spin is 3000 + with it ...
agadawg1717 fade. All I could do was hit low cuts with it using the Accra TZ6 that I used in my EFTD. With the AF it pairs up perfectly and I have it set at D/S.
dphatt I like the sound of that!
Has anyone played around with the SIM Max 3 wood in comparison to the TSI?
I currently have the Sim Max 3 but it just looks so big to me, almost mini driver big.
I have the sim Max 3 wood currently but I’m not a big fan so far. The TSI3 was better. But probably leaning toward the PXG GEN 4 3 wood. I’ve always had good luck with them.
