Take a antihistamine (Allegra, Claritin, Xyzal, Cetirizine, Loratadine, Fexofenadine, etc--doesn't matter which) every day during pollen season, even if you're not gonna be outside. More than 1/day won't help much more but could make you drowsy.
When you do plan to go outside, use whatever generic brand of Flonase (Fluticasone) you want, but try to use it as sparingly as you can since it's a steroid. If you're only using it during pollen season, you should be fine though.
If it gets really bad, you can use something like Afrin (Oxymetazoline) for some temporary relief, but NEVER use it longer than 2-3 days in a row. It's tachyphylactic, so you'll get terrible rebound congestion/drainage and be worse off than the start.
Lastly, stay super hydrated, local honey if you want, and try not to touch your face/nose/eyes with your hands when you're outside.
If it really is miserable, talk to your PCP. There's a whole host of other things you can try.
