Little vent moment here so appreciate the forum. Joined my club 3 years ago, Exec Membership at $340 +tax, cartfee etc. 40+ goes to $465 which I was prepared for in 2023. We are currently in the middle of a year long renovation (Dues still being paid which is normal) and now they are upping all dues to $700 and all new members with $20K initiation to pay for it and trying to get current members to leave so they can bring in new ones at the high Initiation rate. I moved into my CC neighborhood, wife works across the street and now I am going to have to resign because it is not a $900 a month golf course when all said and done (its not even a $465 course).
So i'll be back to not playing golf for a while, or hopping on as a guest at my previous club or others in the area. Just frustrating to know they will treat their current members for money grab. I know this happens all over the place, but it throws a domino effect into everyday life as well.
