Any suggestions/advice from those that have owned or researched them? I’m not officially in the age bracket (yet), but truly think I’d enjoy one. They are quite popular at my club but most of them are older, heavier models that aren’t as easy to transport.

A bunch of the Sankaty members had the Bat Caddy ones. They seemed to love them. So funny seeing people walk around and their bags follow them

So this will be my 3rd season with the Alphard. I love it. I get asked the same questions every time so let me see if I can answer them for you.

  1. it goes fast enough. A nice walking page. It’s slower in rough then fairway. Fasts on cart path.

  2. How long it last completely depends on your course. More rough and more turns kills the battery. More hills and climbs, lower battery. You will get 18 holes on pretty much any course. I’ve done 27 in a day before and still could have prob got in another 9. And I’ve also been pretty low after 18.

  3. it stores easily in the car and I take it out every day to charge.

  4. no it does not tip because you must order it with the wheelie bars. Honestly they should just include them. They’re $50 and you absolutely need them.

Honestly it’s been the best investment I’ve had in golf. On days where it’s a little warm and I’m tempted to take a cart, the fact I just hold a remote I’ll just walk. I do love it. And I have a clicgear.

I would tell you to do a fixed from wheel with it. My buddy has the 360 front wheel and the damn thing just would never go straight. Yes it turned nice but you learn how to turn the cart after a few uses.

kyledrum2002 dude I’m 35 years old. If you don’t want to carry or push your bag around... you’re in the age bracket. Don’t let other people’s opinions hold you back from something you want.

Okay all of that aside is there a huge difference from Alphard 1 and Alphard V2?

agadawg1717 I'm sure @none will let you borrow one of his Alphards on his cliq gears to try. (crazy f#!k8r buys 3 of everything) Stadium makes more sense to walk than cart path only.

Putterho I think the only improvement they made was that you can remove the battery. Obviously earlier for charging purposes or if you need to replace the battery. I had a buddy replace the battery in the V1 and it wasn’t hard.

Oh and V2 has the “teather” which is a string you put on your belt so it follows you around. I will make fun of you if you use that.

I will say the one part of Alphard I am down on is their customer service is not great. There is only a one year warranty and replacement parts are not cheap. I'd say I have about 150 rounds in with it. If you take that number and compare it to what I would pay for a cart, I am well ahead. If my wheels stopped working tomorrow, I wouldn't even be mad and I would order again. Hope this stuff helps. If you have another question that I didn't think of or haven't been asked, let me know. If you are on the fence... just jump. It's worth the investment.

Began researching them myself over the winter. I would definitely purchase one if it weren't for the fact that part of the value of my course membership is that I don't pay for carts. So, if I don't use a cart, I feel like I'll be getting less of a deal. However, IMO, walking is far better for your overall play from a focus and concentration perspective. So, I'm torn. When I walk and carry (usually nine practice holes late in the day) I feel so much more in-tune with my game.

I have been really interested in the Stewart X9 (@$2500) and the MotoCaddy M7 (approx $1700). They are both in my "strong considerations" list for when the time comes that my membership is over about 2 years from now. I'm of the age where a retirement in the south somewhere may be in order soon. I'd then be all over an electric walking cart. I'll have to keep as much of that Social Security check as possible in my pocket. 😆

Thanks for all of the feedback. I’ll dig in and research the suggestions.

I have two alphards I'm hoping to part with. TPC Sawgrass would not allow me to purchase the Stewart x9 because pushcarts needed to match what's already in stock (clicgear or bagboy). I ultimately just decided to carry my bag or borrow one of the pushcarts they have available for free. So if anyone wants the alphard or clicgear.... hit me up

I'll be here next week. I need to find the remote. I may have lost it, but that's an easy purchase. They work just fine
