Thats a nice bag! That u500 setup is super sexy.

@epyon Thanks, I have a long history of looking for the perfect club to fill the gap between fairway wood and 4 iron. Hybrids all tend to go left on me, and I'm not keen on the looks of a 7wood. The u500 seems to be a decent club for the purpose as of now, but I honestly wish I carried it another 10 yards. We will see how the year go, I assume I'll tinker with something else at some point for that 14th club.

LSkip I was in the same spot. Until I found an OG callaway apex 2 hybrid. No left miss

Your bag looks very much like mine is trending going into 2021.

Testing TSi3 (currently in a SIM), M5 5 wood (looking at TSi3 or SIM), TC-201, Artisan putter being built now.

How is the Ventus Blue in the u500? I was thinking about trying out the Black in a u500 3 iron. I always have issues filling the spots between my 4 iron and driver.

@KentonQ I was between the blue or black in the u500 and glad I went blue. I wanted my utility more for the long par 3/ par 5 approach shots. If I wanted to hit low wind cheaters I would have opted for the black. The blue is easy to elevate, but doesn’t over spin.

Have the itch for a new set of irons. Not really sure why, but I do. Anyone have opinions on the PXG Gen 3 Ts? Looking for something a bit more forgiving than the Miura sticks, and a little extra ball speed on mishits wouldn’t hurt me any either.

LSkip it all comes down to what I see at address, very picky when it comes to top line and face height etc. Hit some good shots with them, they perform well but I see like performance from other options that own that appeal more to my preferences.

@Jaybananapantsarthur understand completely. Keep me updated on the search. Am I reading your previous post correct in that you are going to test the Gen 3 Ts?

Ok, now that I’ve had time to sit down and gather my thoughts a little I’ll try and describe the process. First, I purchased a custom putter from Artisan almost a year ago but was only able to send in videos and do the fit over the phone. Today John took a few moments to check the fit and decided everything looks good and gave me a few pointers regarding my stroke. Putter fit was solid and needed no adjustment. On to wedges...

Next Jaime, which is the in house fitter who really knows his shit spent the next 3 hours with me working on finding the proper wedges for my game. The facility has 4 greens a couple bunkers, and approximately 130 yards of short game area. Jaime made it a point to put me in the most uncomfortable positions possible. We started at 35 yards, 60 yards, 110, and last 120 yards. During this time he would randomly hand me clubs out of his Artisan staff bag. I never once ask him what I had in my hand regarding bounce or grind, only loft as I didn’t want to hit a ball into a parking lot 😂. We finished the wedge fitting from short side pitches and chips to tight pins working on finding the proper grinds to allow best contact. We rounded up the morning hitting the new prototype irons....

So finally the unexpected part of my fitting. Jaime and Mike T surprised me with a couple 7 irons that he drug out of a closet. New prototype irons, 1 muscle back and 1 cavity. I was allowed to hit each a handful of times and give my feedback on what I thought. They are VERY clean, with minimal offset. I was so nervous as this was the first time Mike T has watched me during the day and he stood right over me watching me strike ball after ball. This man watched Tiger for years I’m assuming in the same darn position as I was. Pretty neat stuff. I’ll add some photos below but they are from a distance as my wife tagged along but stayed her distance.

LSkip sounds like an amazing experience! Can't wait to get started on my putter.

did they give any hints at when the irons will be a thing?

@pfdz hoped for sometime this year. Still not quite ready for production/fittings. I was told they will roll out irons and only be available for those with Artisan player # and will go numerically. I figure I still have a while to go, I’m #0791 however I think they are in the #1200s now.
