dphatt probably the stigma attached to the brand. It’s like owning a Rolex. Everyone knows the brand, some enthusiasts love them, others think they’re overpriced and the competitors offer equivalent products.

      dphatt for me, it was how Bob originally portrayed the brand when he started it. I also couldn’t get past how ugly the original irons were and WRX had some early fanboys whose buttons were really easy to push.

        TBH i have to thank PXG for bringing out the original 0311 irons. It made other brands have to create something similar or lose market share. To this day I still play the original P790s that were made to compete with PXG at a lower price point.

        I had a Gen1 driver and it was ok but sounded TERRIBLE! The Gen 2 looked and felt alot better but I never found a shaft combo that could compete with my M5 at the time.

        I still game a Gen1 hybrid and have not found something to knock it out. For the irons I have always disliked the look of the small torx weights.

          The nobody builds clubs like we do slogan turned me off from PXG. Also on WRX there were about 4 or 5 guys that just acted like if you didn’t play PXG it was because you just couldn’t afford them.

          huntingchris0000 A bit of this, also Bob himself was a turnoff. At the end of the day, I HATED seeing so many screws. Triggering my mild trypophobia. Luckily at address you can't see anything, but still.

          The new 2021 2011 lineup however, fantastic. I think they are absolutely gorgeous.

            titleistforged the screws were the biggest turnoff for me too. Little chunky for me as I like to hosel some blades, but all the screws, dang.
            I do like parts of the brand and the military discount/support but Bob is pretty polarizing.

              Just dove in headfirst and ordered the Proto X driver to go with my wood and hybrid.

              I get Tag Heuer vibes from PXG. Like the immediate appeal is the price tag associated with it

              Sucked it up and got a matching 3 wood to my Gen 2 hybrids. 145 only :\ hard to beat.

              Update to myself - the 3 wood order got canceled due to lack of heads. Oh well. Back to the drawing board..
