About to pick up a set with $ taper lite or just stick with modus 120 which I’ve played for 5 years. Net difference of 12g total weight.

the wishful thinking is maybe a little extra ball speed but less stress on my neck and elbow. Obviously going to test them but any long term insight and on going light steel is appreciated.

driver is 60g
fairway 70
hybrid 80
driving iron 90
why are my irons at 114 then?
wedges 120

im deciding in twenty minutes, all feedback is welcome

Eddie I've never cared for the feel of a lighter shaft as I seem to get quick and it throws off my tempo. But, if you go this route, VERY intrigued to hear your take and results as we play similar weights in our clubs based on your comments above.

    P.s. I miss your musk 😆

I’m not sure if they count but I’ve got NS Pro 950GH shafts in my irons and I’m not sure if I like them or not. II feel like they’re too light.

Normal playing preference is 130x KBS Tour or Modus 130x. Light messes with my timing and I give up on them too quickly. 105g is the lightest I've tried. Just installed 115 Modus and will have them out for first run tomorrow. Sucks putting so much time/work into a build to only hate it and then tear them apart. I'll learn someday.

Been a 130 guy for two decades. Never tried a lighter weight shaft.

      DaHOF P.s. I miss your musk 😆

They all do 🤣🤣🤣 miss you too bro.

so I hit spent two hours trying some lighter steel shafts.

The first thing that I did feel was how effortless I could swing the $ taper lite shaft. But this is what blew my mind. With 7 and 9 irons, I would say maybe a mile more swing speed, but my smash was consistently a touch lower than with the modus120. For example with 7 iron, my smash with the modus 120 would be 1.39-1.40 but with the $ taper lite I could not get it past 1.37. (Both p770s)

the other I noticed is when I pushed ball speed with the 7 into 120mph, the spin number on the $taper lite would jump 600rpm and launch would go up 2 degrees.

my timing was also hard to dial in, but that I equate to being so used to hitting the same iron shaft for 6 years, that anything different should feel foreign.

the longer my hitting session went, the more I kept grabbing the $ taper lite. However, I kept hitting the modus consistency longer (overall, not just LDA swing) go figure.

the C Taper lite 110, however was a pleasant surprise. Definitely enjoyed hitting that shaft.

so at the end of the day, I sold my original set, but ending getting the exact same set again, what a colossal fail. If nothing else, I’m happy my goal of being more dialed in face to path is yielding benefits.

C taper lite is definitely next on my try list though, anyone got any pulls? Lol.

      modus 120

      $ taper lite

I went from the Nipping Modus 120S into a KBS C-Taper Lite S.

Definitely helps a ton with elbow pain relief! I used to whine and complain to my buddies about my elbow pain all the time when I was bagging the 120s, but with the CTLs it just feels easier to swing and I've been pain-free for a wee bit over a year now.

itssookay I thought about going from C Taper to the Lites but my ball flight is already so high that I need that low launch shizzy from the regular C taper. I think if I ever go lighter I might try the Steelfibers or the MMTs to see....

Moni_SLO Oh yeah definitely find something different. The C-Taper and CTL are completely different animals somehow housed under the same name. I tried the C-Taper prior to trying the CTL and lets just say I wasn't a huge fan lmao
