This is how your swing looks just before impact and you are capable of shooting under par.

Don't change a thing.

OffTheDole it’s funny bc I hate my impact and post impact positions but I am too old to change. I am going to the range later to work on this ball position thing

Put this on Dude where’s my par Facebook page. I’m sure you’ll get some more critiques 🙃

dphatt but I am too old to change.

This right here. Is it worth rebuilding your swing with no guarantee of better play?

It's very likely that ball position is the thing that's been vexing you. If you're playing a lot it's very easy for little changes to ball position or grip to sneak in and cause a series of cascading on-course compensations.

Jack Nicklaus would go back to Jack Grout every year and start from scratch, focusing on the fundamentals before getting into anything else.

"Whether in golf or business, a strong grasp of the fundamentals will set you up for success Jack Nicklaus began every new season with lessons from Mr. Grout beginning with the very basic fundamentals of grip, alignment, stance, and takeaway.

He took a fresh set of lessons every winter to rehash the basics of his game."

OffTheDole Spending 16 months to rebuild the swing once I found the right instructor who taught in a way that would mesh with my personality was worth the time and investment. The first 6 months were absolutely embarrassing and frustrating.

Putterho It's definitely worth a full teardown and rebuild if your goal is to get down from a double digit handicap to a single digit.

I've seen so many really good players lose precious time and mess up a perfectly good swing capable of providing numerous birdie looks a round when they chase perfection.

It's even worse when these excellent players want to change something that works because they don't like how it looks on video. The scorecard doesn't care how it looks.

dphatt funny you say this. I DESPISE how my swing looks. Literally, every aspect of it I hate because I was self taught and never had a lesson and it looks GOD AWFUL. At this point, my index fluctuates between a 2-6 and frankly, I feel like I'm TOO old to go through a swing change. Also, I'm not even sure it would benefit me. Maybe it would get me to scratch? Hell, I "should" be able to get to that if I just go play and practice more. At this point in life, I'll continue to look very ugly when swinging a club and hoping to win a couple more tournaments at the club while doing it 😆

ckay So very true! Although, I would kill to have Adam Scott's swing. Truly a thing of beauty. However, when it comes to his putting...I'm good.

ckay Furyk has proven to the world you don’t need to swing it like Adam Scott 😂

Bro don’t hate on jimFur, he’s the OG gangkas swing 🤣🤣🤣

Swing aesthetic has been holding me back for so long...I need to overcome my OCD and just play with what works rather than trying to emulate Luke Donald.
