Titleist Linksmaster vs Player 4 Bag

In the market for a new bag and I have zeroed in on these. Anyone have comments on either? Don’t typically walk a lot, but like to have a lighter bag in general.

wfufb2014 I'm a big fan of the Linksmaster. It's not the lightest by any means but it carries really well. Since you say you don't walk a lot I will say it does very well on a cart too. Clean, minimal look with just the right amount of pockets for what I carry. Club wise it accomadates 14 clubs with jumbo grips with very minimal tangle, which is usually only noticeable when using the stand. Vertically on a cart I've never had an issue.

I’ll take the ensuing beating that might be coming but as someone who walks 99% of rounds played I don’t find the Linksmaster to be lightweight nor a good walking bag. I went to Ping Craz e Lite last year from Sun Mountain 2.5+ and Sun Mountain 2.5 prior to that. The Ping is slightly heavier but carries better. If it’s not less than 3lbs empty it’s not for me and walking.

If I’m walking for real I want a single strap Mackenzie style with no trestle sticks and letting it touch the ground. Waxed version over leather with a single pocket if possible and an 8” opening. If I’m using a pull cart, practicing, or taking a regular cart then I’m taking a Linksmaster. I don’t know what the Player 4 bag is like so I can’t speak on it but the Linksmaster is 10000% my current 2021 favorite.

Also when I walk it’s either with 8 clubs in a Mac or with a push cart. I’m too old to do the 14 club thing and have to carry far too many golf balls to complete a round 😜.

Love my Linksmaster too. Mine is white and has scuffed a bit in some areas. Careful with belts too. During the summer, I was wearing a Millar navy belt and sweat caused the belt to bleed on the pad of the bag.

Have you guys considered Scotchguarding your white bags? If so, how effective is it?

ckay I had not, but if I got another I might. The white is so clean, but I am hoping for some different colorways for 2021.

I have a Linksmaster that should arrive in the next week or so. Opted for that over the 4 series just because of how clean it looks.

Plus, I like that it is a little unique.

I used the reshoven8 and it has held up well. Very easy to clean on the linksmaster.

Here we go. Braved the snow to head to the club to pick this bad boy up. Haven’t loaded it up yet, but I like it.
