Anyone playing the zx7’s yet? If so what are your thoughts on them?

Have only been able find them this via Australia so haven't come across yet. Trying to figure out if I want to try the 5/7 or the new Wilson staff model CB first.

I hit one and loved it. Instantly ordered a set. I don't know many that have a full set in hand and ready for play though.

Will be hard to pass up a test drive with the X7's. Amazing feel and stability in that tidy package.

KROD10359 I may or may not have an inside man at Srixon who helps me out from time to time...I try not to call in too many favors from him unless I REALLY like something they do.

Is it true these are 1020 endo forged?

ekaj Yes...just like the 745, 765 and 785s. All have been 1020 and endo forged.

Love the ZX5 and ZX7’s look after following @Eddie ’s lead on some 545’s maybe 5 or 6 years ago. Went to 565’s but never really loved them like the 545’s even though I have 4 sets of them. I just keep going back to them even though they have never really been old faithful.

I'd order a set of these to try out but I'm spooked on custom order delays right now. I'm still waiting on a custom Ping set from December.

Just ordered the ZX5/ZX7 Combo set - can't wait to get them in. Just hope they are in sooner rather than later. What is the average ship time lately?

seeshawn I ordered mine on 1/23 and I have been told end of March or early April. I went ZX7 5-PW Modus 120s in a longer length and a ZXU 4 TGI100.

I asked my rep for a status update today. My set was ordered on 1/19. He said it should leave Srixon on Friday. Now the question is do I bring them down to Sawgrass with literally zero play.

dphatt Obviously you bring two bags to the range and choose one moments before you go off. I've once taken 5,8,PW from 3 different sets and sent 2 sets back to the locker room once. 565's MMT, 565's Recoil 980, 565 Modus 105s, and 565 Nippon 980s. At least I felt better mentally before the wheels fell off.

raywutang unlike @Jaybananapantsarthur I love mine (then again, he has 4,273 sets to choose from). Full disclosure, I gamed Srixons since the 745 series and upgraded every year they had a new version. However, about a year and a half ago a set of Miuras kicked my 785 out of the bag. The Z7s were too intriguing for me to pass up, so I ordered a set. After 3 rounds they made they bag and I couldn't be happier with the setup (ZX7 + Modus 115 LE shafts).

I was going to snag a set of these but Modus 120X not an option on the site. Interesting. Did I read somewhere Modus is in short supply?
