Good morning and Happy Monday gentlemen,
We wanted to take a second to write a little note to all of you, sharing relevant happenings, discussing development, and introducing new ideas to start your week off. We will keep this short.
1) THANK YOU. The forum has only been open for four days, but your engagement has been amazing. We are grateful for each of you who is spending time here making this a real community. What is our goal? Our goal isn't to create a chaotic forum where there are thousands of new posts every day. We are just looking to make a clean, uncluttered, and enjoyable relaxed place for us to go beyond some hashtags. We have been putting a great amount of time developing this platform and stressing about whether a forum is really relevant in this ADHD age of short form content, your patronage has validated that in spades. Thank you for already getting us on our way.
2) Tech Developments. This week, our team is focusing two features, making sure everyone who is trying to upload pictures gets all setup and fully functional. Also, we are working on video uploading capabilities so that you don't have to upload to YouTube then link over. All of the content uploads are now being hosted on a pretty sizable S3 AWS instance, to ensure fast load times, and based on the initial traffic, we'd be lying if we said we didn't care about server costs, but shit, we'll figure that out as we go. The main Tees&Coins site which will house featured content that our team is working on is developing well, and we will continue to update you on that as we go.
3) Trusted Partners. As a community of good people, we want to ensure that we can all be of help to each other. We all know people who are trusted experts in various industries. The idea crossed our mind of presenting to the membership people we can vouch for who can provide help for either certain aspects of the golf hobby or in other side hobbies. We will present a new person every Wednesday. To be transparent, there is no financial funny business going on here, we are just lifting up people we know who can be assets to the forum. If you have someone you feel can really be of help to the community, feel free to let us know.
4) POLICIES! Every forum has this "issue." How do you deal with classifieds section "rules" and how to squash individuals who have their own business interests... Well for us, we are not looking at this as a money making endeavor. We would ask that everyone who uses the swapshop to use it in a manner that is responsible. We don't have to explain what that is, so we will just leave it at that. If you are an individual who has a golf brand you are responsible for, feel free to post and share your work, again, just be responsible in doing it.
Have a great week and don't hesitate to let us know if there is anything we can be doing better for this site. Feel free to invite friends to join the site and jump in.
